Alright by Pitbull - Hip Hop w/some Latin-inspired moves

This is from the Dojo. When they had their old space. There new space is bigger, and now the instructor is on a stage. Yes the instructor screams a little too much. This is from their regular Zumba class. I really like this song btw.

Club Zumba @ Dojo 3

Here is kind of a creepy video of the Dojo. You can't hear the music... but you get the idea of what the Club Zumba class is...
The class is in Renton, and it is a lot of fun! When they turn the lights off I tend to work harder, (because people can't see me and how bad I am!). They are supposed to get mats put in sometime in the near future, that will be amazing because about 20 minutes into the class the floor is slippery and wet, gross!

Dance Fitness - Yeah (Batuka Remix)

This is my favorite instructor Michaela Wynters. She is amazing! I probably look like a big time fool dancing with her, but I swear I have never had so much fun or been so sweaty while working out before! Her schedule is on Zumba.com. I highly suggest going to her classes! She used to teach every Friday at the YMCA, but sadly not anymore!

Zumba for Kinect

I usually only workout during the week, and take the weekends to relax.  But last night I was feeling icky so I decided to pop in Zumba for Kinect.  I was able to do it for about 30 minutes.  I recognized a few songs, and it was kind of fun.  However, I lost interest fast.  Maybe it was my ADD kicking in, I don't know.  It is nothing like going to a real class, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.... Also, it has problems reading my hand movement when selecting things, anyone else have that problem?  I also wish they would categorize the music, I was in the mood for hip-hop last night, but had some issues searching for it, (it wasn't reading my hand movements to move the song selection).
Overall, if there are no classes in your area, I would say buy it now, but it really does not come close to the real deal!

So I only have one full body shot, that I could find... oh man.  I have recently lost 54lbs.  Well not recently it took awhile.... a long while... almost 2 years.  It all started when I became a vegan and started working out.
I lost 30 lbs real quick, I think it was because I cut out dairy.  But the rest has kind of been a struggle to lose.
I will find a before picture and post it.
Now I eat eggs and sometimes I will eat chicken, but other than that my diet really has not changed.  (I eat pretty healthy)
I started doing Zumba in November and feel in love with it.  I have only lost a few pounds, but my clothes fit much better and I am happy.

I am on the left, and I guess I am very excited to be on roller skates!

So here is the only picture I could find, it will do for now! This was from about 2 months ago.  So I am still the same size...

Zumba is for everyone

If I can do it, you can too.
I am the worst dancer ever!  I am not coordinated whatsoever!

Zumba is for everyone, true story.  It does not matter how old you are; I have seen people my grandma's age in my classes before and they have a class called Zumba Gold which is geared towards older adults.  It does not matter what size you are; I have seen every shape and size in Zumba classes, and I would not consider myself to be a skinny mini anyway.

Sometimes people just come in and dance their own dances and that is okay.  In the beginning of most of my classes the instructor's say, if you can't follow along just move around and have fun!
I have even seen a few gentlemen in the classes, although Zumba is not as popular for the guys I have seen it happen.

After your first class you will feel lost, but everyone feels the same way.  I still feel that way!  No one has any idea what they are doing.  It is just meant to be fun... I smile and laugh a lot during the classes.

Hella Decalé - Dj Mam's feat Doukali & Soldat Jahman

Fun new Zumba song. Each instructor has different choreography, but this songs always kills my calves.... a lot of jumping on one leg.... kills in a good way!

Almost forgot...Federal Way Community Center

Here is the link to the Federal Way Community Center, you can look up their Zumba schedule for fun times.

This place is in a pretty new facility.  I wasn't sure what to expect because I do not go to Federal Way often, well like never, but it was nice.

ZUMBA - Merengue - Song "Yo te beso"

One of my favorite Zumba songs, I'm sure I look ridiculous trying to keep up, but it is so much fun! I'm not sure where this class is but the instructor seems awesome and like she would kick your ass into shape!

Zumba Fitness - Caipirinha Music Video

The first song that I was able to memorize all the Zumba moves, not very well of course, but I try!

Current Zumba Schedule

Monday:          Dojo in Reton @ 7:45pm

Tuesday:          YMCA @ 6:00pm

Wednesday:     YMCA @ 6:30pm

Thursday:         YMCA @ 6:30pm

Friday:             YMCA @ 6:30pm

Every class I go to is an hour.  The class at the Renton Dojo is a club Zumba class, which is where they turn the lights off and put on fun club lights.
I go to the YMCA because they have a great scholarship program that can pay up to 80% of the monthly fees if you qualify.  (I also do Yoga at the YMCA on Wednesdays too)

The Dojo is a really fun place to go.  The staff are very upbeat and very enthusiastic!  They remember names of the customers and always have smiles.  They offer a bunch of classes everyday.  Yes, it is very expensive to go to the Dojo, but I did a new membership special they had, which was $25 for 10 classes.  And I heard they will have a Groupon soon!

You can find the Zumba schedule here for the YMCA.  I like how they offer classes everyday and they are in the evenings.  The only thing I do not like about the YMCA Zumba classes is that it is a different instructor every night.  All the instructors are great, but that is a lot of different routines to get down!

You had me at belly scarves

I don't know if Mackenzie is the one to blame or thank, how about both?  Mackenzie invited my cousin Rebecca and I to our very first Zumba class all the way down in Federal Way.  I had no idea what the heck Zumba was....neither did Rebecca.  So we did not know what to expect....
We got to the Federal Way Community Center and went to our very first Zumba class....

'What the hell is this?'  I thought to myself, looking around at all the crazies!  (I mean that in a good way!)
Ballet slippers, belly dancing scarves, bright colored cloths, 30-40 women crammed into a room yelling and getting all excited...

Finally it started, oh no.  I was lost times 10.  Looking around at everyone else who were "getting it".  Cumbia, Bollywood, hip hop... oh my.... I can hardly dance and hold a drink, let alone dance to Latin music like I was in a video.

Mackenzie, Rebecca and I kept looking at each other and cracking up.  Yes, we were hot and sweaty, but we were also smiling and laughing.  I could not do even half of the steps and was just moving around, but still had so much fun.

The instructor was very nice, she was a sub.  She introduced herself to us in the beginning, I guess we looked like newbies.  She asked us how the class went when we were done.  Before she walked away she said that every class was different.

Needless to say, I went on a rampage to find a damn belly scarf.  It took a few days, because you know that you have seen them, but the moment you need one, they are no where to be found.  But me being a "go-getter" had to have it, and yes I found a place that sells them on Broadway for $20.... I know that is a lot, but we needed it... ha.
